Would you like to introduce yourself ?
My name is Gert-Jan ENGEL, I’ve been at Château de l’Epervière since 1997. I was born in the Netherlands and I have lived in France since 1993.
What is your specific role within your Les Castels campsite ?
I am the Tenant-Manager of the campsite since 2002.
When was your campsite established ? Can you describe it for us ?
Our campsite opened its doors in 1968. It’s situated in a magnificent location surrounded by a beautiful wooded park of 11 hectares with a lake for fishing plus a 16th century castle.
What are your values, your ambitions for the future ?
Our values at the Château de l’Epervière are it’s calmness, comfort, relaxation and building human relations. We are a traditional campsite where guests feel comfortable and relaxed, with very little entertainment.
Can you give us an anecdote? Your favourite memory ?
Our campsite has been the source of many wonderful encounters. We have seen so many weddings and beautiful babies amongst our collaborators and our customers, and this is the best reward ever !
Where is your favourite place on the estate ?
Personally, I love Location 9, it is at the edge of the lake overlooking the castle. It’s quiet and a beautiful place to contemplate.
What is your favourite moment depending on the season ?
Nowadays, I prefer the months of June and September. During this time of the season, all our services are up and running, the campsite is relatively quiet and we have time to exchange, discuss and share with our customers.
