Excellent! Couldn’t fault our stay

A great experience as always at Les Ormes. Already booked for next year. We love the place, all the activities and wooden cottages are the best, 20 years next year, some of those years we came twice.

We enjoyed our short stay prior to returning to the UK, unfortunately it rained quite a lot - but nothing you can do about the weather !

We stayed at Domaine Les Ormes 02.09.25 - 13.09.25 and booked through Eurocamp.

The cabin
We stayed in a Premium Mobile Home 3 bedroom that sleeps 6-8 with covered decking HB014. The cabin itself was ok and what we needed, but the bedrooms were very small, very slim door frames, ok if it’s just yourselves in there, but trying to sleep with a baby was very cramped. We could only fit the pram into the double bedroom and we pushed the bed frame and mattress right up to the wall (a travel cot wouldn’t have fitted, so we used the basinet on the pram). The twin room wouldn’t have fitted the pram in but fine for 2 single people sleeping in there, and the bunkbed bedroom is definitely children only as it’s got a full size bunkbed pushed into a very slim room so not much space to walk down the side of the bed. The living area was spacious enough and the decking had a lot of room for more than the cabin slept. The cabin has the basics but you will need to either bring things with you or buy them, we bought cleaning products, tea towels, bath mat etc. There is a supermarket less than 10 min drive away (Carrefour Market Dol-De-Bretagne)

1977 restaurant / bar
We had a few drinks in here and also tapas style food which was really good. We also had an evening meal here which was really tasty too!

Pizzeria Chez Madeleine
We eat here twice as the pizzas were so good - Smoked salmon pizza, meat feast, veggie pizza and all were so good and would definitely recommend. They also do a takeaway.

Onsite shop
The shop was well stocked with food (not much for veggie/vegans though) they also sell Evian water which is recommended for babies to drink with their milk.

Archery
We did the archery session which was great fun, the man running the session spoke very good English to explain everything.

Swimming
The indoor tropical pool was great, lots of room so never felt overly crowded and never had to wait for a slide. Lots of chairs and sun beds for your stuff. Half the lockers were out of order though. There were 3 baby changing mats in the changing rooms. You can leave prams by the door where the shoes and seating area is, there is enough room for quite a few. No cafe inside the pool area though so good to take a drink with you. Our baby loved the pool, she wore a disposable nappy, reusable nappy, her long sleeve/leg swimsuit and then a sleeveless baby wetsuit from Jojo Maman Bebe, we didn’t bother with a floaty as we were always going to be holding her but plenty had floaties for babies and there were no restrictions. The pools felt warm enough for her, but probably not the 30°-33° that it should be for them so good to layer up, but our baby was always fine as she’s quite a hot potato.
We didn’t try the separate outdoor pools as the weather wasn’t warm enough.

The site is very dog friendly as lots of people had dogs walking around, just note there are site animals wondering loose like goats, chickens, and also people horse riding. There are donkeys too but these were behind a fence.

We’d definitely recommend the site, it was a great site with lots to do for families.

I'd not visited Des Ormes for 18 years!! It was great back then, but now its absolutely incredible. The new restaurant and shop really are the best I've ever seen on a campsite, the building that houses them is exquisite, like something from Beauty & the Beast. Absolutely stunning!! And the swimming pool!! Omg its out of this world, best pool I've ever been to in my life! The whole campsite was thriving from the beautiful carousel to the zipwires and pedalos. Surely the best amenities in Europe!! I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Yes it was noisy at night and my lodge was a bit too far from the toilet block but there was no way I could give this campsite anything but 5 stars it so strongly deserves!
