Our first night’s stay was a nightmare.
We booked the Maison Rouge gîte, but it was completely unsuitable for families with young children. The beds for my 3- and 5-year-olds were on a mezzanine level accessed only by a steep ladder — incredibly dangerous if they needed to get up in the night. Apparently, this is something they “tell you after you’ve booked,” though we were never informed.

The accommodation itself was filthy. The smell of damp was overwhelming, and we found bird droppings, rabbit pellets, and dog hair throughout, even spots of blood on the bedsheets. I went straight to reception to request a move, mainly out of concern for my children’s safety, but was told the site was fully booked. Their “solution” was to bring a mattress for my children to sleep on the floor of our room.

After a sleepless night and being bitten alive, I insisted on moving or receiving a refund. Miraculously, a new gîte suddenly became available — and funnily enough, the three gîtes next to it stayed empty for the rest of our stay.

On the positive side, the pool, cycle hire, kids’ activities, and horse riding were all excellent. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the restaurants, even the fine-dining one served disappointing food. The children’s play area was located beside what appeared to be a sewage drain and smelled terrible, and the only public toilets in the centre were truly awful, the stench of urine was so bad that we ended up walking back to our gîte each time instead.

Overall, we won’t be returning to Les Ormes. It’s a shame, as there are some lovely aspects to the resort, but the lack of cleanliness, poor food, and misleading accommodation information completely ruined the experience

Our third trip here. It's a wonderful campsite. The activities, staff and new shop/restaurants/activities make for a wonderful french camping experience. The pool dome ensures on any rainy days (it's northern France remember) there is still a holiday vibe. We have loved our visits here and recommend anyone to give it a go. We stayed with Eurocamp who were also good.

I found Les Ormes to be a venue full of pleasant surprises. If you want a location that understands service and provides a broad range activities to keep the family occupied and entertained then Les Ormes is the go to place..

It’s a great resort. We’ve visited many times over the years. Loads for the kids to do. Pool complex is fantastic. Accommodation varies. My only gripe allowing dogs (which now seem to be everywhere) into restaurants. We ate at the Brasserie 1977 and while it’s a nice (new) place and the staff/food was great, the barking dog, the dog constantly sniffing around our feet and jumping up at us, and the one that sounded like it was choking the whole time really spoilt it for us and the tables around us. Come on Des Ormes. Sort it out!
