Apple or Pear cake : the recipe from Les Castels
Ingredients ( for 6 to 8 people) :
- 400 g apples or pears
- 200 g plain flour
- 3 eggs
- 120 g castersugar
- 60 g melted butter
- 1/2 litre milk
- vanilla essence
- 5 cl dark rum
- salt
Butter the sand wich 24 cm tin and dust with flour. Serve the flour into a mixing bowl. Make a hole in the centre and into this put the eggs, salt, sugar, 1/3 of the milk. Add a few drops of vanilla essence and rum. Mix the ingredients together and then gradually add the rest of the milk and the melted butter.
Peel the fruits and slice thinlu. Place the fruits on top of the cake mixture. Bake in the pre-heated oven (200°C) for 30 minutes. Once baked sprinkle with icing sugar !
