Les Castels Tour 2023: more responsible holidays

From 1 June to 10 July, the Castel Tour 2023 team will be touring 13 sites across France in an electric van. Each campsite will offer a programme of activities based on Castels' eco-friendly practices. These are moments to meet and talk about respecting and preserving the planet, which are in line with the DNA of our 13 independent addresses, all of which are different. Green events are organised to raise awareness of environmental issues among young and old alike.

A collection of exceptional, committed addresses

All Castels eco-responsible campsites have the Clef Verte and/or Ecolabel labels and are committed to sustainable tourism, optimising natural resources and biodiversity, respecting the authenticity of the local living and built environment, and ensuring viable economic activity in their area. Each independent owner works towards more sustainable tourism through daily actions that are visible in their eco-campsite. These actions are embodied in the Castels eco-gestures, designed to raise awareness among holidaymakers of the importance of biodiversity and reducing consumption (energy, water, etc.) and waste.

Eco-responsible actions and events

During the Castel Tour, each campsite offers an eco-responsible workshop or activity on the theme of sustainable tourism. On the programme: discovering the local flora and fauna, tasting local produce, workshops on making your own household products, learning how to grow your own vegetables...

At the same time, a charter of eco-actions has been devised to gently raise awareness of the need to respect biodiversity, reduce waste and encourage people to continue to pay attention to their water and electricity consumption during their holidays.

Tour de France in an electric van

For this second edition of the Castel Tour, we have organised a road-trip in an electric van during which Gwenn, a student in information communication at the University of Montpellier, and Agathe, a student photographer at the Sorbonne School of Arts in Paris, will be stopping off at each of the exceptional Castels campsites. For this new Castels Tour, our team is climbing aboard Yao, the very first electric van in the fleet of our partner Loutipi, based in Ille-et-Vilaine in Brittany. So it's off on a low-carbon Castels Tour de France at the wheel of a brand-new, comfortable Peugeot e-expert electric vehicle with a range of 300 kms.
