Need some fresh air? The area around Limoges offers numerous opportunities for outdoor activities. You can do a circuit of the lac de Vassivière reservoir, on foot, bike, horseback on even on a donkey, before taking a boat to the charming island of Vassivière. And there’s no need to visit the coast if you want to relax on the sand: the beaches of Saint-Pardoux, just a stone’s throw from Limoges, await you for an invigorating break. On site, you’ll find lots of water sports or you can even try a tree-top adventure trail. 

Yes, of course, there is porcelain in Limoges...... But that’s not all! The city is well known for being the ceramics capital of the world, which includes all artistic techniques involving the transformation of raw materials by heat, but it is also famous for its train station, a genuine mini-architectural masterpiece. To get a better sense of the city’s unique atmosphere, wander around its cobbled streets, through its centuries-old porches, alternating between the Upper Town, the old château des vicomtes district and the old town, formerly ruled by the bishop.
